On May the 30th we had a reunion for choir members past and present. It was nice to catch up with people, to sing some old songs and to look at some of our old photos. Thanks again to Ian for organising it!
We are an a cappella group of about 20 singers who rehearse every Thursday night (during school term) at the Mid-Mountains Community Centre in Lawson. We sing many different styles of music including pop, folk, gospel, African and traditional. Our choir director, Kate Swadling, is a professional jazz singer who has been with us now for 13 years. Our choir was founded in 1993 and directed by renowned singer, Janet Swain, until 1999. We do regular concerts in the Blue Mountains and Sydney and have also performed at the National Folk Festival in Canberra (2008, 2009 & 2010) and at a festival in Sanda City, Japan (1998). If you are interested in joining our choir please call Kate on (02) 4759 3937.
